1970s: AL Green Live on Soul Train Compilation:
1972: Al Green Live in Concert on PBS "Soul".
1973: Al Green Live on Midnight Special
1984: The Gospel According to Al Green:
Gospel According to Al Green is a fascinating 1984 documentary about soul music's most insinuating singer, Al Green. Directed by Robert Mugge, it captures an expansive Green talking about his career and performing in front of a military crowd in a hotel ballroom. Green's high, seductive voice, passionate performing style, and sinewy stage presence make the musical sections of the film compelling--even if you're not a fan of gospel music. Because, at this particular juncture in his career, that's what Green was performing, though the songs have the slow-boiling insistence of his best soul songs. In the interview segments, Green talks about how he wrote his songs and the religious conversion experience he underwent that caused him to put his pop-music career aside and serve the Lord--and how, when he gets cooking onstage, people don't seem to care that when he's singing about "Love and Happiness," he's praising God's name, rather than singing to a woman. Green, notoriously press-shy, is remarkably open discussing his tragic encounter with a spurned lover, who dumped boiling grits on him and then killed herself.

Running Time: 60min/Color
James Brown is a legend, known as much for his incredible music as for his wild, larger-than-life personality. VH1 followed Mr. Brown for one year, capturing him in all of his many facets and moods. We follow Brown as he mounts his comeback: an all-out attempt to resuscitate his reputation, recapture his audience, and regain his place in American Pop Culture as Soul Brother #1. VH1 gained unprecedented access to Mr. Brown and his world, including his new (and young - she's half his age) wife, Tommi Rae Brown; his manager, a man known to most as "SuperFrank," and his trusted 40-year associate, the ever patient Mr. Bobbit. We watch Brown on the grind of night-after-night performing. We see the road take its toll on Brown, and are reminded that we're watching a man in his 70th Year. Whether he's hitting the streets of Harlem, or arguing on the phone to get his credit card approved at a store in Rome, our travels with James are surprising, sometimes hilarious, and always entertaining. Including new interviews with Bootsy Collins, Paul Shaffer, and Dan Aykroyd.

The Ultimate James Brown Interviews and News Clips compilation Video! 1988 to 2002
Running Time 30 min/Color
This tape is packed with rare news and personal interviews clips. It shows the mass media's 1988-1991 coverage of James Brown stint in prison to his long awaited parole. You'll witness people like Jesse Jackson, MC Hammer, Al Sharpton and his now late wife's media campaign to get him out.
USA Today, a popular current events newspaper featured a two-part made-for-television special, which covers James Brown 's rise to stardom and fall from grace. He starts by interviewing the people closest to Brown and later Brown himself as he is granted an interview by the soul man himself.
In this USA Today segment, you will see James Brown as the public has never seen him before. Shortly, after an arrest for assaulting his wife Adrienne, he is interviewed at his office by an USA Today anchorman. Brown is not the immaculate showman normally seen in the public and on stage. His clothing does not match, he attempts to hide his mussed hair underneath a cowboy hat and his bottom false teeth are missing. His speech is hardly audible as rambles to get through an interview.
He is also seen giving an interview on October 13, 2000 to CNN's WorldBeat as he takes a break from rehearsing at the House of Blues. Other clips and interviews from the year 2000 include, VH1's "Where Are They Now" and the "20 to 1" episode of crimes and misdemeanors. Clips from 2002 include "VH1's Most Outrageous Busts", "Hollywood and Crime" and "Court TV" involving a recent sexual harassment case and Brown's daughters suing him for royalties.
This video contains over 10 years of rare interviews, and news clips during his two year stint in prison to his triumphant come back by recieving The Award of Merit at the American Music Awards to a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

1978: James Brown: Soul Connection Documentary:
Running Time: 59 min/Color
James Brown visits Mexico and then makes a pilgrimage to Senegal, in West Africa to discover his roots in this autobiographical and concert documentary entitled, "Soul Connection". The cameras show Brown in his dressing room where he gives an interview while primping in front of the mirror combing his hair, applying make up to his face and eyes before a show. This is a very intimate and up close documentary with great tour and concert footage. While sitting in front of a camp fire, Brown gives an account about what it was like growing up poor in the backwoods of Augusta, Georgia in a whorehouse ran by his aunt. He also talks about the pain and shame he felt at the age of seven when he was sent out into the streets to hustle men for the prostitutes who worked in his aunt's brothel.
Follow him into the studio and watch him create the signature "James Brown Sound" with a group of unknown musicians. Watch him conduct his business over the phone with concert promoters and then watch him relax by taking time out for a game of pool. At his recording studio, he shows the camera man some funky moves like "the robot", "the funky chicken", "the mash potatoes", "the soul train dance" and "the James Brown shuffle" See rare complete concert clips of songs such as, "Funky Good Time", "Get up Offa that Thang", "It's a Man's World", "I'll Love You Tomorrow" and more. Brown is truely in rare form on this video. This is James Brown at his sexiest! The above picture is an actual shot from the video. Picture is an actual shot from the video
